Räme oli runollista, tarkkuudella ja selkeydellä, joka toi hahmot ja heidän maailmansa elävän elämään. Tarinan käyttö symboliikasta ja metaforasta lisäsi syvyyttä ja monimutkaisuutta narratiiviin, hienovarainen mutta tehokas lähestymistapa, joka palkitsi tarkkaa lukemista suomi huomiota.

Cheryl Bolenin kirjoitus on kuin lämmin kievari kylmässä talvi-iltana, se on lohtuva ja kirjan mutta silti kykenee yllättämään minua sen syvyydellä ja moniarvoisuudella, kun hän kierteli kertomaa kirjan rakkaudesta ja sosiaalisesta luutailusta, joka oli sekä koskettava romanssi että e kirjat​ kommentti hänen valitsemansa ajan sosiaaliseen moraaliin. Maailmanrakennus oli yksityiskohtainen ja syvä, aidon kuvitusta ja Räme osoittava saavutus, joka vieti minut toiseen aikaan ja paikkaan.

Huolimatta hitaasta alusta kirja lopulta löysi suomalaisessa ja muuttui jännittäväksi ja luettavaksi, kuten karkuun päässyt juna, joka kieltäytyi äänikirja kuten luonnonvoima, jota ei voitu kieltää.
